FAQs
1. What sizes are Vloomi wigs available in?
Vloomi wigs are available in the following sizes: S (52 cm in circumference) M (54 cm in circumference) L (56 cm in circumference) XL (58 cm in circumference). We also make custom-made wigs according to need, e.g. for people with particularly small heads (circumference less than 52 cm) or with special measurements, such as a very flat head. When ordering, the wig best suited to your measurements and needs will be chosen, with the possibility of making changes to improve the wearability.
2. How can I measure my head?
You need to use a dressmaker's tape measure to find the right size. To choose the most suitable one, you'll need to take a few measurements. These are the circumference measurement, the measurement from the hairline to the nape of the neck and the measurement from ear to ear. Some additional measurements will be required when making wig caps tailored to the specific head size of the individual customer. For further guidance, please consult our tutorial at this link.
3. Is it possible to make a wig from those in the SHOP section in a different length than the one shown?
Of course. Just contact us at info@vloomi.it or fill out the form in the section CUSTOMISATION indicating the model identified and the desired length.
4. Where are Vloomi wigs produced?
Vloomi wigs are entirely made in our artisan laboratory in Italy (in the province of Treviso).
1. How are Vloomi wig caps constructed?
The caps of Vloomi wigs are made of a part called “lace top” in HD material of about 13×13 cm which gives a very natural effect on the hairline area and which allows you to change the position of the parting (lateral or central). The rest of the cap is instead made of hair bundles. The caps we use are made of light and breathable material.
2. Are Vloomi wigs medical devices?
No, Vloomi wigs are not classified as medical devices.
3. Is it possible to colour my wig?
Darkening the hair of a Vloomi wig is possible: you can darken the roots or add shades to the lengths. However, in most cases, we do not recommend lightening. We recommend that you contact us for more specific instructions for the wig you have purchased. In any case, avoid do-it-yourself and contact a hairdresser experienced in wig colouring. Remember that Vloomi creates customised wigs, so you can make yours in the colour of your choice.
4. What is the production time for a Vloomi wig?
The production time generally varies from 4 to 5 weeks from the confirmation of the order, depending on the details of the wig construction, the colouring, and the hairstyle required. In special cases and periods, the production time may be longer, but we will keep you informed. In any case, we will do our best to process your order as quickly as possible.
5. Is it necessary to use adhesives or glues to make the wig stable?
Our wigs are constructed in such a way as to guarantee optimal stability without the use of adhesives or glues: that is why it is essential to choose the correct size according to the measurements of your head. However, if you consider it necessary, you can use adhesives or glues, taking care to remove any residual after using the wig.
6. Is it possible to do sport while wearing a wig?
It is possible but not advisable. We do not recommend using your new wig while practising sports so as not to compromise its longevity. Instead, we recommend the use of synthetic wigs or old wigs that would not be your first choice. You can use glue to make the wig firmer during sports.
7. Is it possible to wear the wig while sleeping?
Sleeping while wearing the wig is possible, but we advise against it so as not to compromise its longevity. If you choose to do so, you might feel the wig firmer by using some adhesive or glue. It is normal for the hair to become tangled when waking up due to rubbing against the pillow.
8. How do I cut excess lace?
The lace is the transparent lace around the hairline. Your new Vloomi wig will arrive with the front lace intact: the excess must be cut off to obtain as natural a hairline as possible. We recommend that you use a pair of good cutting scissors (dressmaker's scissors or small manicure scissors are very suitable, but not those with a curved blade). You can cut the lace while wearing the wig, while it is on a wig head or by laying it on a flat surface. Cut about 1 cm from the hairline, proceeding from one side of the lace to the other making a straight cut (not zig-zag) that follows the normal curving of the hairline itself. We recommend cutting the lace 1 cm from the hairline, as with time and use the edge of the material will tend to fray slightly and you may need to shorten it by a couple of millimetres. It is always better to proceed with caution when cutting and cut back later if necessary rather than risk compromising the integrity of the wig. Have a look at our tutorial for greater clarity. Upon your request, we can take care of cutting the lace before shipping.
9. Are the knots in Vloomi wigs bleached?
Yes, the knots in our wigs are bleached to achieve the most natural effect in the hairline and parting area. Given that the more they are bleached, the greater the risk of compromising the integrity and thus the durability of the wig, we bleach the knots gently: this is why they may be slightly more visible in some wigs than in others. In these cases, we recommend camouflaging them further by applying concealer powder to the area.
10. Can I change the parting of my Vloomi wig?
Of course! Wet the area of the current parting and create a new one with the help of a comb, then blow-dry for definition. Have a look at the tutorial.
11. Can I tie my Vloomi wig in a ponytail?
Of course, you can make a low or medium tail. If necessary, use some adhesive or glue for more stability.
12. How long does a Vloomi wig last?
The lifespan of a wig depends on how it is maintained and how much it is worn: if treated with care and with the right products it could last 1 year or even more. Over time it may be necessary to touch up the color and/or trim the ends.
13. Is it normal for my wig to lose some hair?
Yes, all wigs lose some hair, particularly when brushed or washed.
14. Is it normal for my wig cap to have colour stains on the inside?
Yes, our wigs are entirely coloured by hand, not industrially, so it is normal to have colour stains on the fabric inside the cap. But you can rest assured: these stains are not visible when the wig is worn and do not compromise the final effect of the look in any way.
15. Is it possible to cut my Vloomi wig?
You can cut it as you wish, bearing in mind that some very short cuts may make the seams visible. We recommend that you contact a hairdresser with experience in cutting wigs. We also remind you that we create customised wigs, so you can choose the cut that best suits your needs when ordering.
16. How should I store my wig when I am not using it?
We recommend placing it on a wig stand, on a wig head or in a fabric bag. If you plan not to use it for a while, make sure you keep it in a place that is not humid and away from direct sunlight.
17. After washing, will my Vloomi wig come back with the same styling I received it with?
The hair used to make Vloomi wigs is real and behaves like it. This means that if you want to get a certain final result, whether wavy or straight, you will have to style your hair using accessories such as a straightening iron, rotating brush, curling iron, hair dryer and brush. If you simply let them air dry, they will be straight/slightly wavy.
